Excited to announce that we will be publishing an artist book with Nardeen Srouji (b. 1980, Nāẓareth), a Palestinian multidisciplinary artist currently based in Haifa.
Working across sculpture, video, architectural interventions, installations, and mixed-media, Srouji’s practice centers on site-specific interventions. In this upcoming publication, she will translate her works into the pages of the book—approaching the book itself as a space where artworks unfold. Using the architecture of the book as a site, she reimagines her practice in a new form. The book is being designed by Field Day Studio.
Srouji’s practice is rooted in the exploration of gaps—between stability and instability, placement and displacement, familiarity and estrangement. She engages with familiar objects, images, and sounds, from her surrounding, transforming them into interventions that prompt viewers to reconsider their understanding of—and relationship to—the world around them.
